About ISSN

History of the School
Since 1985, the Inernational School of Skin and Nail Care (ISSN) has successfully been training students to be licensed estheticians and nail technicians. It was the first school in the U.S. to be nationally accredited exclusively for esthetician training. Since the beginning, the school has trained thousands of students from Georgia and all over the world. The school has graduates in at least 25 states and 10 different countries plus many cruise ships throughout the world. Graduates now enjoy many diverse professional careers in a variety of fields including the rapidly growing spa and salon industries, the medical profession, entertainment industries, travel and resorts, cosmetic industry just to name a few. In addition, many of our graduates choose to be self-employed in one or more of these industries. Employers have come to depend on ISSN for their staffing needs. The school is now the largest esthetician and nail technician school in the southeast United States. In June 2008, ISSN added a Massage Therapy program. This 675 hour program is offered day or evening. With an overall school enrollment around 250 students, ISSn has been recognized as the industry leader for training and facilities in the southeast for over two decades. Several advanced course offerings are also available so that our graduates may have continuing education opportunities in keeping with the schools commitment of continuing support of our graduates.

Facilities
ISSN is located at 5600 Roswell Road on the Courtyard Level of the Prado Mall, one fourth mile inside of I-285 @ Roswell Road. Our facility includes about 10,000 square feet of training area including a Skin Care, Nail Care, and Massage Therapy clinic open to the general public. The school is conveniently located on the Marta transit line with service provided regularly throughout the day and evening for students and clients. The school is accessible to the handicapped person and covered, ample parking is available to students and clients. A wheel chair ramp is conveniently located at the front entrance of the school. Double doors on ground level permit easy access to the school which is a lone level floor plan for students and clients. Restrooms are also equipped for the physically impaired.

Accreditations
ISSN is accredited by the Accrediting commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE). This national accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and by the Commission on Post-Secondary Education.

Approvals
ISSN is licensed and approved by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology for the training of Estheticians, Nail Technicians, Instructor Training and continuing education. The ISSN Massage Therapy program is approved by the Massage Therapy Board of Georgia & the National Certification Examination Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.
Upon successful completion of training, the student will receive a diploma from the school. Upon passing your exam for the Georgia State Boards, you will be issued a license that certifies you as a professional in Esthetics (Skin Care), Nail Technician (Nail Care), or Massage Therapy (Massage Therapist).

Eligibilities
ISSN is eligible for and may participate in certain federal programs of financial aid for education including the Pell Grant Program, the Stafford Loan Program, and the Direct Loan Program. The school is authorized under federal law to enroll eligible non-immigrant alien students, also authorized to enroll students as vocational rehabilitation participants, and/or social security beneficiaries. The school is approved for Veterans Benefits to eligible veterans.
