School Resources Available to Graduates

Job Placement – Full time and part time job placement assistance is available to all graduates as needed. Known job opportunities in Atlanta, Georgia, other states, resorts, cruise lines, etc. are available upon requests. Known job opportunities outside Atlanta are less plentiful. Graduates are also encouraged to develop his/her own job leads. You can contact the placement office at 404.843.1005, ext103 for job placement assistance.

Financial Aid – Students that participated in federally subsidized student loans through the guaranteed loan programs at ISSN should contact the school’s financial aid office when there are questions about your financial aid that you do not understand or if you need assistance in managing your financial aid responsibilities. Remember, in the state of Georgia, if you default on your loan you will lose your license.

Starting a Business? – Contact the school first prior to starting a spa or salon business. The school will assist you in many ways. Ask for Ray or Alan for additional assistance.

Incorporating Your Business – There are many legal and tax reasons to form a corporation when you start a business. If you need help with this process contact Ray at the school for a free Incorporation Checklist and additional assistance.

Spa Products, Supplies and Equipment – All products used at the school can be purchased at the school discount rate for all graduates. If you need to buy spa supplies the school can sell these to you at a discount rate that is usually a savings over beauty stores. Contact either Ray or Alan if you are purchasing equipment for your business for assistance. Usually the school can save you money on equipment, supplies and products.

Advanced Classes – The school offers several advanced classes throughout the calendar year. Classes in make-up, laser/IPL, clinical aesthetics, permanent make up, acrylic nails, and other classes are usually offered one or more times each year. Contact the schools admissions office for the exact schedule of these classes. A current class schedule is included with this graduation packet.

Continuing Education Classes – The school is an approved provider of state board continuing education classes in Georgia and in some cases other states. You may choose from between in school class instruction or on-line instruction with the school. In either case, a certificate is issued at the end of the instruction. National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) – ISSN is the only school in Georgia that is approved to administer the National Certified Esthetician Specialist exam administered by NCCT. If you are interested in getting national certification as an esthetician, contact either Ray or Alan for more information and to schedule your exam. Cost is $139.

Spa Services – All graduates get ½ off spa service prices at the school.

Cruise Line Employment – ISSN is the only esthetician school that offers interviews for the worlds largest employer of spa personnel on cruise lines. You can go to www.steinerleisure.com for more information. Contact the school for schedules of Steiners next visit and to get on the list for the interviews.

Technical Assistance – If you have a technical question about skin care or nail care, contact Elaine at 404.843.1005, ext 110 for assistance. This includes product, procedure or equipment advise and assistance.

Resume Services – Contact the placement office for assistance in developing the proper resume for your job search. Provide the placement office with a copy of your resume for prospective employers and the placement office will forward to employers upon request. A copy of the proper resume for all new graduates is included in this graduation packet.
